SharpEye protect Windmill in the Netherlands

March 2011

SharpEye 40/40R Optical Flame Detectors have been installed in a Windmill in the Netherlands to protect the energy conversion structure that contains the turbine that converts wind energy to rotational energy or electrical energy.

The energy windmills produce can be used in many ways, traditionally for grinding grain or spices pumping water, sawing wood or hammering seeds. Modern wind power machines are used for generating electricity and are more commonly called wind turbines.

The SarpEye optical flame detectors detect fires at their ignition stage, providing an alarm well before the fire spreads to the protected enclosure.
