A 15 year old SharpEye 20/20I (IR3) Optical Flame Detector that was installed in a harsh environment was recently returned to Spectrex for inspection and service.
The optical flame detector was sent as part of the plant inspection cycle. As can be seen, the detector was extremely dirty, coated in oil and tar residue.
The detector was firstly cleaned, and then functionally tested and was in perfect working condition and fit to be returned to service in the field.
Spectrex SharpEye Flame Detectors are today sold with a 5 year warranty, however when this detector was sold, it arrived with a 3 year warranty. It worked perfectly for 5 times its warranty time, and has now returned to the client to continue its service.
