Oil & Gas

Offshore platforms and FPSOs,  onshore oil refineries, processing plants, pipelines, storage farms and LPG/LNG plants all utilize or produce a wide range of hazardous flammable liquids and gases that can be detected by the Spectrex flame and gas detectors.

Offshore Oil & Gas

Offshore Oil & Gas Platforms, rigs and FPSOs require advanced Spectrex Flame and Gas monitoring equipment to protect these vital installations and minimize the risk to personnel.

Onshore Oil & Gas

Spectrex Flame and Open-path Gas Detection are vital elements in the safety systems of oil refineries, processing plants,  LPG and LNG plants, storage tanks, compressor decks, loading stations and pipelines

LPG and LNG

LPG and LNG are major products used either as feedstock or as energy sources for various distillation processes. There are many processes and special production units in a refinery or in terminals that pose specific fire and safety hazards, some of them are detailed below.

Floating Roof Storage Tank

The storage of crude oil and petroleum products in 'floating roof' tanks may result in vapor migration outside the roof seals and ignite to form a fuel fire that in time (if undetected) destroys the seal and turns into a catastrophic fire.

Processing plants

Spectrex 40/40 Series Flame Detectors provide reliable and rapid warning of fire and allow early preventative measures to be taken. Safeye open-path gas detectors can provide early warning of gas hazards and allow explosions to be prevented.

Hydrogen Detection in Oil Refineries

To  protect a plant against fires, the Spectrex 40/40M  Hydrogen flame detector can monitor  entire process areas and provide early warning of invisible Hydrogen fires

Air Ventilation Ducts

Safeye duct mounted open-path gas detectors provide rapid and reliable warning of ingress of combustible gases into turbine air intakes or ventilation systems.

Chemical & Petrochemical Plants

The chemical and petrochemical industry handle many hazardous toxic and combustible substances, which makes it a necessity to implement highly reliable fire and gas detection systems.

Fence-Line Perimeter Protection

On many plants, there is a need to monitor the perimeter to warn of migration of dangerous vapor clouds into nearby plants or populated areas.
