The 20/20U (&UB) UV Flame Detector responds to high energy UV radiation emitted by fires and explosions at the point of ignition. It detects hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires, invisible hydrogen flames, hydride, ammonia, silane and other inorganic fuel fires.
The UV sensor incorporates a special logic circuit that helps prevent false alarms caused by solar radiation.
Note: This type of detector should not be exposed to UV radiation sources such as welding, sparks and electric arcs as it will cause false alarms.
